She’s the one movie is a lighthearted tale from the friend zone. But for everybody, it’s an obvious tale of how social media is running our lives and love life today.
You can tell it from the very start when the barkada (Bea Alonso, Maricar Reyes and etc) threw a party for Dingdong a.k.a Wacky’s birthday. Everyone was busy with their cellphones. First social media platform was Instagram as they posted several pictures in collage. When dinner was served, tweets became their side dish. Although there are good things you can do with Twitter, it was pretty obvious that people nowadays misuse it to spread rumors and backbites. And the famous tweet, “I was so DRUUUUUNK” when Colleen a.k.a Mandy started her thought-interesting-drunk-story.
So what do you think would be the next?
Now, we’re getting to the climax or the “Girl in the rain” part. It was right after Wacky’s birthday party when in the middle of the road while Cat is heading home, the tire just suddenly broke. Then everything went in slow motion as Cat was gradually soaked in the rain and managed to change her tire alone (kinda amazing how she was able to change it by just using her hands when in junk shops, mechanics used to ride on it.aw lol)Then came Enrique Gil trying to extend help but was rejected. He then grabbed his phone out (take note: LG phone that is waterproof.amazing) and started recording sexy-hot-moments of Cat.lol
It’s Youtube this time because in the morning, Enrique a.k.a Dave uploaded the video trying to find “The Girl in the Rain.” It attracted more than a million views but still was not enough to easily find the Girl. It was only by the time Wacky’s show got in touch with him for both parties benefits – to help the show climb back with high ratings and help Dave find the “Girl in the rain”. But who really did find the Girl? It was Bea’s special sister / niece.
To cut the story short, Enrique failed in asking Cat’s number so he asked for her Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, instead. Too bad, not everyone is updated like Cat.lol But would you believe by the time they finally got together, Cat started to connect with these social media networks?
Then comes the power of hashtag as the couple tries to update their fans with hashtags – #GirlintheRain #CatVid and etc. What else would you expect then? Repost here, retweet there and share everywhere.
But my most favorite part was the ending. Enrique and Bea’s tandem was kinda weird. There was a kilig but a different kind of covering-your-eyes-with-your-hand-because-I-can’t-imagine-them-kissing feeling. Right? But when Dingdong and Bea kissed, aaah, it was like, “this was the part I was waiting for” then, “why so small part?”.LOL
Social Media’s the one, I mean She’s the one ended with an Instagram post, “May ebidensya na ang kiss. #SilaNa
